BERGEN COUNTY, OCTOBER 4, 2007
—-Dr. G. Jeremiah Ryan, the new president of Bergen Community College has joined the Board of Directors of Bergen County's United Way. Dr. Ryan is an impressive leader who brings over 20 years of experience in education and non-profit administration to his newly appointed role. Dr. Ryan served as President of Raritan Valley Community College in New Jersey for six years and as President of Quincy College in Massachusetts for four years. For about a year prior to his appointment as president at Bergen, Dr. Ryan developed the educational consulting practice for the Alman Group, LLC. He concentrated in areas of expertise that included board and senior staff development, fund raising counsel, strategic planning assistance, continuous quality training, and government relations consulting to educational and non-profit organizations throughout New Jersey.

Dr. Ryan previously served as Chairman of the Board of Somerset County United Way.

"At Bergen Community College, we are committed to making meaningful and positive contributions to our community," said Dr. Ryan. "Joining Bergen County's United Way Board of Directors reinforces this commitment, and I look forward to bringing my years of experience with the United Way to the Bergen County organization."

"I am thrilled that Bergen County's United Way will have the benefit of a new resident and education leader within our ranks - particularly one steeped in the traditions of the United Way.
