COLLEGE JOINS BERGEN COUNTY'S UNITED WAY

BERGEN COUNTY, OCTOBER 4, 2007 —-Dr. G. Jeremiah
Ryan, the new president of Bergen Community College has
joined the Board of Directors of Bergen County's United
Way. Dr. Ryan is an impressive leader who brings over
20 years of experience in education and non-profit administration
to his newly appointed role. Dr. Ryan served as President
of Raritan Valley Community College in New Jersey for six
years and as President of Quincy College in Massachusetts
for four years. For about a year prior to his appointment
as president at Bergen, Dr. Ryan developed the educational
consulting practice for the Alman Group, LLC. He concentrated
in areas of expertise that included board and senior staff
development, fund raising counsel, strategic planning assistance,
continuous quality training, and government relations consulting
to educational and non-profit organizations throughout New
Jersey.
Dr. Ryan previously served as Chairman of the Board of
Somerset County United Way.

making meaningful and positive contributions to our community,"
said Dr. Ryan. "Joining Bergen County's United
Way Board of Directors reinforces this commitment, and I
look forward to bringing my years of experience with the
United Way to the Bergen County organization."
Bergen Community College, located in Paramus, NJ, is the
largest two-year institution in New Jersey with 15,000 credit
and 10,000 non-credit students and a $100 million budget. Bergen
Community College is a comprehensive community college offering
associate degrees and certificates along with customized
training to business and industry. Courses are offered
at the main campus in Paramus and at an extension center
in Hackensack. The College is developing plans for
a future site in the Meadowlands which will serve a major
population center in the southern part of the county.

of the United Way. Dr. Ryan offers a fresh perspective,
a new sense of energy to the robust group of community leaders

of our Board members brings their working knowledge of corporate
governance, ethics and integrity to the management of our
investments. They help to ensure the success of our
mission."
