Crescent Commons Home Ownership
BCUW/Madeline has started construction on a second phase of development at Crescent Commons in Allendale. The six townhouses under construction will be sold to first time home buyers who meet HUD low-income requirements. Two of the units are 3-bedrooms, four of the units are 2-bedrooms, and units are approximately 1,500 square feet. Construction is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2012. Purchase prices will range from $90,055 to $178,242.
The 1.5 acre site located on West Crescent Avenue is within easy walking distance of the bustling downtown convenient for shopping, employment, transportation (including commuter rail), community services, and houses of worship. The property is also across from the 110 acre Crestwood Park. It offers residents access to open space, recreational facilities and the town swim club.
Total project costs are $1.9 million and include investments from Bergen County’s United Way, NJDCA HOME, and the Bergen County Division of Community Development HOME program.
Vince Barra, Mayor of Allendale leads the project team on behalf of Allendale Housing, Inc. He is joined by co-developers Thomas Toronto, President of Bergen County’s United Way, Shari DePalma, Director of the Madeline Corporation and Michael and Mary Scro of Z+ Architects.
