Direct service is fundamental to the mission of Bergen County’s United Way. Our help is concrete, direct and responsible; it is the essence of what we do – 24 hours a day, everyday, wherever help is needed.

Help starts with 2-1-1 our free and simple statewide service that answers every call for help.

We help in a crisis with assistance that is direct, concrete and timely from The Compassion Fund.

And, we are turning lives around with innovative solutions to our community's most critical problems like Housing Works, our development effort to end homelessness, increase the supply of homes that people can afford, and enable some very special people to live independently in award winning Very Special Homes.

We make help happen when no one else can.
