Our Annual Special Events
Every year we offer community events that bring people together. Each magnifies a shared vision of caring and raises money to impact the lives of those in need – from children to seniors – right here in Bergen County.

2010 Events

"Golf - for - All" Outing

The 4th Annual "Golf - for - All" Outing is hosted by Bergen County's United Way and Women United in Philanthropy. After a delicious lunch, players complete 9 holes of golf, or lessons with pros which is then followed by cocktails and light hors d'ouvres. Approximately 50 women from corporate and community networks attended the event last year.

Ride United

The 2nd Annual Motorcycle Run is hosted by Bergen County's United Way and Bergen County Harley Davidson. The motorcycle run includes a ride with opportunities to pick up Tricky Tray tickets along the way, ending in a tented family "street-fair" with classic barbeque fare, entertainment & raffles. This event benefits United Way's Compassion Fund, providing direct financial assistance to people in need.

Women United in Philanthropy Fall Gathering

The 6th Annual Fall Gathering & Grant Awards serves as the annual meeting for New Jersey's only women's giving circle. The event includes a cocktail buffet, dessert, grant award voting and an inspiration keynote speaker. Past speakers have included Gloria Steinem, Erin Brockovich and Chris Madden.

Casino Royale

April 22, 2011

The Fourth Annual Casino Royale will be hosted by Bergen County United Way's Young Leaders and includes a night of casino games, dinner buffet, top-shelf bar and extraordinary raffle prizes. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Bergen County United Way Compassion Fund with particular attention to young parents beginning their post-high school path.

Bergen County Golf Classic

The 14th Annual Golf Classic will be hosted by Bergen County's United Way and the Volunteer Center of Bergen County. This event includes lunch, a foursome team, cocktail hour and dinner with fabulous prizes. The course has been ranked #87 by U.S. Golf Magazine and is the #84 Most Prestigious Clubs in America by Golfer Connoisseur.

Last year this event attracted over 1,000 runners. The 13th Annual Teterboro Airport 5K is expected to attract even more! The 5k run is help on the airport runway. The course is certified and the race sanctioned by the USA Track & Field and is a Grand Prix Series Race. Over $10,000 in random prizes will be awarded. This event benefit NJ 2-1-1, United Way's statewide, free, 24-hour information and referral service that connects people with social services and community programs that can help with everyday health and human service needs.

Participation Fee:
On or Before July 11, 2010: $20 ($17 USATF members)
After July 12th & Race Day: $25
