Young Leaders

The mission of the Young Leaders is to promote philanthropy, education, volunteerism and leadership among local young professionals to positively impact our community.
Congratulations to the Young Leaders event committee for putting on a successful fundraiser! The Casino Royale event raised over $15,000 for the Compassion Fund!

Who are young leaders?
Young leaders are individuals 30 years of age and under who have recently entered or are preparing to enter the work force. They are dedicated to bettering their community through volunteer work, fundraising and education and social activities throughout the year.
Current Initiatives Volunteering
- Recently we volunteered at
Zoe's Place to lend a hand since they were short staffed and had a large order to fill. View Zoe's thank you letter.
- We also teamed up with students from Memorial High School in West New York and spruced up the Franciscan Development center.
- We have lent our skills to help with administrative needs at
West Side Infant Day Care. Some of our members used their skills in graphic design to create a brochure while others used their computer skills to update presentation materials. Other members even solicited the help of Hudson Horizons, to donate their time to create a website for the organization!
Fundraising
The Young Leaders hosted the 3rd Annual Bergen County's United Way Casino Royale on April 22, 2010. Proceeds from the event went to support the Bergen County United Way Compassion Fund with particular attention to young families. The event includes a night of casino games, dinner buffet, top-shelf bar and extraordinary raffle prizes.

Education
Several times a year the young leaders visit different programs provided throughout the county and hear from those who have received help in hard times to identify where there is a continued need. Recently we have toured the Hackensack Housing and Human Services Center and met with a Compassion Fund recipient who shared her story of her families fall into homelessness.
